The USB Bottle & Cup Cooler & Warmer

Lukewarm liberation with your USB portals

USB portals are beautiful things, aren't they. Nowadays pretty much everything can be, and have been connected to that electronic bulk of pure genius you're staring right at this moment, namely: your computer.

I consider myself low maintenance, in fact all I need is a laptop and a coffee and I'm good for hours. Although it's never a joy when , after hours of being transfixed by the constant stream of information that is my monitor , breaking anyway for a moment to quench my other thirst with a hot cup of caffeinated goodness, to find instead a cup of room temperature mediocrity.

In a relentless quest for an answer to this problem, including a very shabby improvised contraption involving a tea light and some equipment stolen from the physics classroom, I inevitably ended up where I started, online.

And of course it was Japanese. As it usually goes with caffeine driven computer fanatic such as myself, the gadgetphile in me loved it immediately. The USB Bottle & Cup Cooler & Warmer.

No points for original naming, but it does make my job easier. It's simultaneously a heating and cooling element, built into a practical, compact casing and is powered by you're computer via a USB cable.

It can go from room temperature to as high as 140° and as low as 55° in a matter of minutes. Which means it will keep your beverage warm but wont pose a health or fire risk (Unless you happen to have some pure bromine lying around), and will keep your soda cold without giving you frostbite, which is always a good thing.

It has a 3.5 feet cable and all in all weighs about 1 pound, with only a hot or cold switch it's dead simple to use, making the manual redundant, but for entertainment value with its awesome, crooked English translations: "request the cup can transmit heat", "Put the products in the steady place after taken it from the packing." and "Put the cup on the working position. Now you may enjoy your life!". USB Bottle & Cup Cooler & Warmer

The Kindle - Books have finally caught on
One can not look at a kindle and not think; IPod. Not only for the fact that with it's monochrome screen and white plastic body it kind of looks like the first IPods, but also because what iPods and mp3s in general have done for music, so has the kindle done for literature.
